Sigh. And only 24. A little young for me. But watching the world championships coming up in Melbourne won't be as much fun without Thorpie to drool over, um, root for.

Of course he retired because I was getting back into swimming shape again....(cough, cough...)
(I am a faithful lap swimmer who will, on rare occasion, embarrass myself at a triathlon or in an open water swim...)

According to the Addidas Thorpe profile, he's 6' 5", 229 lbs (Where's the fat?) and shoe size 17

Forgot to ask: I'm color-blind. Is Thorpe's hair that chlorine-induced blondish-green notorious among swimmers? I doubt even lime green would wreck his love life
