It's been a while since we've heard from the Philosopher Queen...
Asked if voters should be wary of Romney being a Mormon, the former president's wife, Barbara, said "not at all," noting there are "wild people" in many religions.
"I mean it was in 1897 that bigamy was outlawed in that church," she said. "You know we have a lot of Christian wild people too, and a lot of Jewish wild people and a lot of Muslim wild people. The Mormon religion takes care of its own, they don't have people on welfare."

Watch it here.

Actually, I've heard that Utah, with those big big families, has more people on AFDC, food stamps, etc. than any other state.

I would guess old Barb knows about welfare, since she, her hubby and kids have been bleeding the U.S. government dry for years.

Glad to know she's really worried about people not being on the dole. This is the scary face of 'compassionate conservatism'--just put those people in the Superdome.
And speaking of wild people, her son(s) are wild a**holes.

Oh my, it's the Quaker Oats Lady making a spectacle of herself again. Does anyone else see the fruit flies buzzing around her oxygen deprived brain ?

God, if she wasn't the former first lady she'd have, like, a thousand cats and spew this shit at anyone who came within earshot of her front porch.

An old agage; in old age you end up with the face you deserve. Does the word "Gorgon" sound applicable anyone?
Posted by: Capt. Bat Guano | April 25, 2007 at 10:29 AM
I'm confused of the word "wild", was this a colloquialism back in the 30's? Like for group sex or swinging or having an affair with a Nazi party member or something?
Posted by: queek | April 25, 2007 at 10:29 AM
...confused by the use of...duh!

It never struck me before how much she looks like William F. Buckley in a fright wig.
Posted by: dman | April 25, 2007 at 12:16 PM
What a ridiculous old fool. Did she not pick up a newspaper or turn on the TV when Warren Jeffs, the leader of the FLDS, was all over the headlines? Welfare is the FLDS members' main source of support.

they don't have people on welfare
Nope, they have entire towns on welfare!! Holy fuck, oh and they were forced to make polygamy illegal as a condition of statehood.
Fuck I hate these people.

It's only fitting that a president who looks like a chimp was expelled from the putrescent womb of an albino gorilla

Do evil people ever die?
No, they just have even uglier pictures in their garages, featuring them in WH photo ops wearing dresses that make them look like Gateway (think Holstein cowhide print) boxes.

Watertiger,
I can no longer look or even think of Barbara Bush or Rush Limbaugh with out this famous bit of imagery from the Dark Poet Bill Hicks running through my mind.
Enjoy.

The LDS church has its own welfare system so most church members in need don't use government welfare. Warren Jeffs and the FLDS crew, on the other hand, are a splinter group and have all been excommunicated, so they turn to the government instead.

Ruthie, it IS amazing how these evil fuckers don't get ill! Not that I think that she deserves another breath of Earth's oxygen, I dread the possibility of her or poppy kicking the bucket while W is still preznit. W on the other hand would thinking differently as he will benefit quite nicely as the nation is lead into a month of mourning fog by the admin and the media that'll make Reagan's funeral look like a station identification!
Posted by: queek | April 25, 2007 at 07:53 PM
Fuck. Me.
When will that evil bitch DIE, already...
I think I hate her more than Dubya, and not just for bringing him into this world.
Fucking cunt.
Yes, she deserves that word.

I heard Poppy tell Larry King that the he and OldBar have four bionic hips between them, and eighteen toes. Boy, did she look pissed at the old man for telling about her two toes missing.
Maybe her great-grandchildren are cutting parts off of her to pickle.
Posted by: TeddySanFran | April 25, 2007 at 10:42 PM
Mercy, I beg of you, Teddy! There are a number of things I don't ever want to think about, and that duo's hips rank right up there.

Uhm, if memory serves me correctly, they're both related to British royalty--which in this country means they can all trace their ancestry back to the same boat ride across the Channel. How do we know that Babs didn't whack off one of Bush Pere's legs in a fit of pique? Dude isn't all that steady on his feet these days....
Posted by: Ruthie | April 26, 2007 at 01:56 AM
Partially correct llamajockey.
In Utah the church does help support their own BUT it all depends on if you tithe. You don't, they won't help you and they do NOT cover everything. I lived there from '92 to '96 and worked in a huge grocery store known for deals. The mormons would come in all the time with WIC coupons and Food Stamps. I know because some of them lived on my street and we were the only nonmormon family there at the time.
So yes, they DO use government hand outs when they are stuck with 10 kids, one income, and a 10% off the top cut for the church.

Nobody said Yoda. To me, Barbaric bears a striking resemblance to Yoda. Of course, the similarity ends with the outward visage. Yoda is caring, thoughtful and respectful of others.
