So now we're up to what, FIVE branches of government? From the Los Angeles Times:
WASHINGTON — The White House said Friday that, like Vice President Dick Cheney's office, President Bush's office is not allowing an independent federal watchdog to oversee its handling of classified national security information. An executive order that Bush issued in March 2003 — amending an existing order — requires all government agencies that are part of the executive branch to submit to oversight. Although it doesn't specifically say so, Bush's order was not meant to apply to the vice president's office or the president's office, a White House spokesman said.
You think they might want to have specified that or did they just assume we could read their minds?

OK. It is now official. Cheney has reached supervillian status.

I just wrote to my congress critter (Jan Schakowsky), to the House Speaker, to the House Majority Whip, to the House Majority Leader, to the Democratic Caucus Leader, and to my senators (Durbin and Obama) PLEADING for them to begin impeachment.
I wish others would do the same.
Yesterday I heard Bernie Sanders (VT) saying that impeachment would have a terrible political backlash. I wrote that NOT beginning impeachment would have an even worse backlash.
I am aggravated and really angry that this administration is filled with such arrogance and disdain for the Constitution. Not to mention "we the people". This is due in no small part to the fear and timidity of the Dems and the complacency of the "electorate". We are in such big trouble here. I can't stop shaking my head AND my fist.

Clearly no 2008 PrezCandi needs a running mate, as Shooter intends to stay in The Fourth Branch as long as the stents hold and the pacemaker ticks over.

Nah, impeaching them would legitimize them, implying we did actually elect them.
I prefer to think of the Bush assministration as a hijacking and robbery of the entire country, myself.

Why exactly do we cowtow to this guy again and again?
If we have learned nothing, Bush is a bully, but a weak bully. Stand up to him and he will bow. He is merely stalling...once again.
The press really ought to pounce on this and get them to explain exactly why this is necessary, beneficial...but at the same time point out what inexcusable bullshit it is.
How fuckin' ridiculous will we let these administration idiots be publicly.

There is a little-known codicil in the U.S. Constitution which gives the vice-president unlimited power to preserve order in times of legal jeopardy...
