Swear to god, what is wrong with people "in the heartland" that they think this is acceptable?
"C'mon, DARE me to say something that doesn't invoke 9/11!"

"Hey, Rudy! Got yer $9.11 right here!"
Hey, I'm from the heartland, but I hope that was a good enough imitation of New Yorkese.
Contrary to Rudy's belief, he's not a mythic figure that people idolize out here. He just doesn't have that much impact. The downside is, what people do know about him is post-911 media hype, so they tend to think he's an effective leader. Hopefully enough New Yorkers who know better can get to the microphones.

When your culture mistakes authoritarian disdain and cruelty as "leadership", figures like Giuliani will be able to fool people.

On the plus side, though, this shows people as clearly as possible that to Giuliani and his followers, the tragedy of 9/11 is nothing more than a marketing gimmick.

He'd would have done much better fund raising had he agreed for the events of 911 to be on say 12-27.

Rudy Giuliani, "Il Ducke", pounds the lecturn, folds his arms, and forcefully insists that "the subways always ran on time when I was in charge".

Too bad his policies and budget cuts ended up killing so many firefighters and police officers that day...

"Abraham Sofaer, a State Department adviser under President Reagan, is holding the fundraiser at his Palo Alto, Calif. home on Wednesday, but he told the Associated Press that he was not involved in coming up with the “$9.11 for Rudy” theme."
Since when is Palo Alto the "heartland"? More like a west coast enclave if you ask me.

Jon Stewart last night characterized Rudy's incessant references as "9/11 Tourette's."

Send this pic to Tina Fey, who secretly wants Guiliani so she can feel safe.

He does seem to have the ghost of Mussolini living him in doesn't he? Maybe reincarnation really does happen.

The real reason everyone in Ghoulani's campaign distanced themselves from the $9.11 pitch was it was supposed to be $911.
