Today's heroes.
Senators who had the goddamned balls to stand with Dodd and vote "no" on cloture of the FISA bill:
Boxer - D/California
Brown - D/Ohio
Cantwell - D/Washington
Cardin - D/Maryland
Dodd - D/Connecticut
Feingold - D/Wisconsin
Harkin - D/Iowa
Kerry - D/Massachussetts
Menendez - D/New Jersey
Wyden - D/Oregon

Remember that cloture requires 60 Yea votes; not voting is the same as "nay".

Wow, a handful of Democrats and not a single Republican. Looks like it will forever be 9-12-2001 in America.

So where do we stand? Was cloture attained?
Posted by: plooger | December 17, 2007 at 03:29 PM
As far as I'm concerned, any Democratic senator who didn't stand with Dodd today or who voted for cloture are no longer eligible for one bit of my support, and that includes any presidential candidates. This one was non-negotiable for me. I'm not willing to be a useful sucker any more, and I don't care if it means we lose some seats OR the White House again.
How long are we supposed to play along and watch the country slide into shit?

I'm with Pope Ratzo on this. I couldn't even call DiFi. If we need to call these assholes and tell them what they already know, abandon all hope.
I have been calling and writing that woman weekly forerver. She doesn't give a rat's ass.

I don't see Clinton, nor Obama in there.
The only candidate for president I see in there is Dodd. He's the one who gets my support...

And Cantwell had the ovaries.

No surprise that Schumer wasn't there. Was probably trying to get himself up off his knees after blowing another hedge fund manager. Christ, I hate my senators.
