now, if you can work Alice the Goon and the Jeep in, you've got MAGIC, I tells ya!
but I still think it's demeaning to Popeye...
I still can't believe that after EIGHT EFFING YEARS of this, we're still dealing with a complicit press who've all RSVP'd for McCain's next BBQ, at his "modest little cabin".

Garsh, that's the best picture I've seen of Cindy McC.

Could there be a possible benefit to the media's infatuation with St. John McCain? If the Dems. can break through the media noise machine and get people to realize how reactionary John McCain is, maybe it'll finally break people of the notion that the media is somehow liberal? And if people no longer view the media as being the epitome of liberalism, then people will no longer think we liberals are such wankers based on the wankery of the media. Moreover, if people realize the true nature of media bias they'll stop dismissing media criticism of the GOP (when it does happen) as being "oh the media is just liberal" and stop overly crediting media embrace of the GOP with "even the liberal media thinks [X]".
There is an opportunity here for an enterprising Democrat. HRC, actually would be in a good position to capitalize on it with her talk of the "vast media right wing conspiracy" -- reminding people how good they had it in the 1990s, what the media did to Clinton (who was president when people had it so good) and how they are worshiping St. John McCain now. But alas, HRC is too busy trying to destroy Obama (and embracing those who would destroy her and any other "liberal" in a heartbeat) to make a difference here.
I see yet another opportunity for party-building and meme intitiation wasted by the Dems. setting up, yet again, their famous circular firing squad. Oy ...

Every speech or whatever mccain does reminds me of bush's Katrina speech...no audience just the TV cameras. mcccain appears to be ready to campaign like bush did for 04...private invitation only events and not one dem will call him on it.

McCain is not a War Hero like the MSM is pimping. He spent 5 years in a Hanoi prision for bombing innocent civilians in a previous illegal and immoral war. They didn't let him die because they thought as an Admiral's son he would be valuable in peace negotiations. It's the meme the feckless MSM are happy to promote because it makes them feel patriotic and feel like they're on the right side of the war on terror. What a bunch of ....
