John McCain, career P.O.W.,
tells returning vets to stick it:
Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, seemed to give a thumbs down to bipartisan legislation that would greatly expand educational benefits for members of the military returning from Iraq and Afghanistan under the GI Bill.
This, however, is the tell:
Officials in charge of Pentagon personnel worry that a more generous and expansive GI Bill would create an incentive for troops to get out of the military and go to college.
Nice. We've created a class of indentured servants. Thanks, Sprinkles*, you doughnut whore.

Sprinkles?
Anyhoo, why is John "I don't like 'managers for profit'" McCain essentially being a feudalist surprising? In general, the modern GOP, under the guise of being more capitalist than the bourgeois-dominated Dems (but also under the guise of being more proletarian friendly than the Dems), has been extremely anti-capitalist and neo-feudalist/neo-Leninist (especially, in their rhetoric directed to the proles -- compare Leninist de facto pre-millenialism with the rhetoric of reactionary pre-millenialists).
McCain, while he's pissed off the GOP establishment for being "bipartisan" (for rather feudalist reasons of "honor", really ego) and for being against the sort of religious-establishment that feudalism tends to require, is otherwise one of the purest feudalists in the GOP coalition. Hence his anti-capitalist ravings and large degree of support from the also somewhat anti-capitalist, ex-commie neo-con types.

Yeah.... you don't want to create an incentive for anyone to go **into** the military.
kudos to Sen. Webb on this one.

I guess he thinks every person returning from war has a rich sweetheart waiting in the wings...you know, the one who wasn't married to him, or caring for his kids. (That one is tired and stressed and frazzled while struggling to pay the bills and wondering if her prisoner-of-war husband is coming home. And wondering if he will be mentally sound after all the duress of going to war and being captured.)
He isn't conservative, he's an evil and selfish son-of-a-bitch
McCain is an asshat of the first order.

I disagree, I don't feudalist as much as fascist; a neo corporate-state conglomerate run by an elite few with large corporate connections. They run a government that is basically fed by them and which looks not to the people, but to the corporate interests who protect their interest in cash, holdings and privilege.
Citizens available as fodder for either corporate profit or disposal in military aggression, such military aggression used to dominate weaker countries through threat of or use of force in order to procure the resources to fuel the corporate-state conglomerate and keep the populace placated.
I'll stop there with my diatribe.

McCain's a bullshit artist, and not a very good one at that. In fact, he's really crappy at bullshit.
His whole deal is he was adopted by aliens and made it back...
National Hero? I think not.
Just another loser...
