Oh geez, this photo is from The Decider's visit to my hometown, Peoria, IL.
The local paper wasted three front page articles on this clown; many readers were outraged. :-)
The young guy in the background is Aaron Schock; he is the odds on favorite to win Ray LaHood's IL-18 Congressional seat.
Mr. Schock presents an interesting dilemma for the local Repukes:
1. He is telegenic and a gifted crowd worker; he won a seat on the school board at 18 and a state Congressional seat at 23 (in a district that went for Kerry no less!)
2. He is also as queer as a 3 dollar bill and yet manages to keep that fact hidden from those "good people" who support this "nice young man". The local Republican leadership is really not nearly as homophobic as many other Republicans, but some of the local insipid rank and file Repukes would be bothered by it.
The local D's had a counter fundraiser (a 15 dollar a plate fish fry to compete with the 500 dollar a plate Bush photo op); see some local reaction here
