Given that he usually uses the flag to wipe his ass, this is an improvement.

I am shocked he even held up the right flag... Gads but I hate that fucker.
It's so bad that any time he is shown in the crowd or 'guests' at the sportscaster's desk - I explode into Tourette's-non-pareil. He was at that desk earlier while I was at my folks (and they still looooove him) and I jumped up and said "with 'that' - I have to leave!!!"

We're just lucky he didn't hoist the Stars & Bars.

Looks like the lady on his left reeeaaally minds the presidential elbow going upside her head.
She travels all the way to Beijing, and still can't avoid the rowdy drunk American fan. Worse yet, said drunk fan turns out to be The Leader of The Free World.
Posted by: UhhhDude | August 11, 2008 at 12:58 AM
Elspeth ~ They gave him instructions on waving the flag, but he still thinks he a cheerleader and uses the flag like a pompon.
FYI: It's the U.S. Constitution he uses to wipe with.
(cuz "it's just a goddam peice of paper")
Posted by: leslie | August 11, 2008 at 01:01 AM
ummmmmmm, the "lady on his left" is NotJenna.
She doesn't like his elbow upside her head, but she's likely seen worse from him.
Posted by: leslie | August 11, 2008 at 01:04 AM
Maybe this is like one of those funny little "personality" exercises they have you do in training classes - the one where you reach up and with your finger daw an "E" on your forehead? The people who draw it so that it's legible to people looking at them are judged to be people who care about other people; the people who draw it so that it's backwards to others but oriented properly to their own view are judged to be people who are self-centered. Clearly Bush's holding up the flag viewing it from his own point of view, and not that of people looking at him.
Self centered motherfucker.

Forget what I said up there. Switch to:
"And there's NotJenna on his left, urging the Leader of of The Free World to continue his assclownishness.
"Since she and Jenna majored in Fratbehavior at UT, she could be considered somewhat of a genius, although Jenna was clearly more an expert."
I would normally pay attention to such details as to be able to spot a Bush baby vs. a random crowd member, but since it's the Bushies, I'm far less compelled to waste the time.

How much longer is "National Lampoon's Olympic Vacation" going to last?
Because Isn't this about the time of year Dumbya usually heads to Crawford for his annual
30 day screwoff there?
You know, chopping brush and ignoring memos and hurricanes?

Look at all the Madame War Criminales!
Posted by: TeddySanFran | August 11, 2008 at 03:42 AM
Huh? It's not upside down, so wtf are you talking about? Ever seen the tail of an airliner?
I know you hate the guy, I hate the guy too, but how about sticking to real issues?

Tissues?!
Tito, bring me an issue.
Gee, I wonder what's important... air? water?
or, dare I say it, going to work.
What is a tissue?
Posted by: wa ching | August 11, 2008 at 06:37 AM
erm, I hate to break it to you but that is the way the flag is displayed on the Army's shoulder patch...
Posted by: OldCoastie | August 11, 2008 at 07:18 AM
thanks. I guess. Been trying to avoid the olympics and now I've seen more than enuff with this series. What an embarassment for our country.
Posted by: swc | August 11, 2008 at 08:23 AM
He can take the best of anything and ruin it. The swim relay was exciting and showed the best of our country (never give up even when the odds seem insurmountable). He cheers and we look like morons.
Posted by: Monica_A: Dammit | August 11, 2008 at 08:46 AM
How many war criminals can you count in that picture. I see two.
Actually, I am happy to have chimpy there. We need him to stay front and center through early November. Can't afford to have him fade away too soon, since he's gotta be Johnny McSame's albatross. I hope his fragile fratboy ego demands that he continue getting as much media attention as possible.
Posted by: snabby | August 11, 2008 at 09:03 AM
Well, "old coastie", an arm patch and waving the flag in a crowd are two different presentations. The assclown is holding the thing BACKWARDS.

That's no lady, that's "Not-Jenna".

Teddy-Wa: Close, but no ceegar.
A flag depicted on a moving object is painted as if were a real flag in the wind. So the tail flag on the starboard side of an aircraft has the bars trailing the field of stars.
If the top guy and his team can't deal with protocol at The Olympics....
Posted by: Ol' Zeb | August 11, 2008 at 01:11 PM
but but but the flag looks right to georgee.
and it's bush related tourettes elspeth. i too suffer from it.
Posted by: pansypoo | August 11, 2008 at 01:35 PM
Bush Tourette's: A new disease for the medical journals. Christ Jesus on the cross, I never suffered from so much bile before. I blame that ratfucking piece of shit for making me so hateful and bitter. The day he finally goes away (if he ever does), it'll be like a giant cloud of smog lifted off the face of the planet. Like that scene in LoTR.
Posted by: thepoliticalcat | August 11, 2008 at 01:46 PM
Now,if we had a cool flag, like Japan, we wouldn't be having this problem
Graphicly speaking, of course.
Posted by: wa ching | August 11, 2008 at 02:08 PM
stars are always to the left of the stripes.nowhere do you see a flag displayed with the stars to the right.an upside down flags is a distress signal, and the real issue is bush is a fucking moron.
Posted by: kingweasil | August 11, 2008 at 02:26 PM
The stars-on-the-right patch on US uniforms was an idiotic mistake that should be corrected. It still bugs me whenever I see it, and the error is spreading everywhere. The stars always belong on the left, no matter whether the stripes are vertical or horizontal. Every boy scout learns this; it's a horror that the USArmy erred.

Jesus H. Christ on a rubber crutch, he can't even unfurl.
Posted by: Capt. Bat Guano | August 11, 2008 at 07:13 PM
Everyone here seems to be missing the big issue. Why is george selling flags at the Olympics? Does he have a license to do that? And why doesn't he put them on sticks like the other vendors? Cheap baxter.
Posted by: NOTeasy | August 11, 2008 at 07:32 PM
even laura had to hide behind anything
Posted by: distributorcap | August 11, 2008 at 07:40 PM
From W's perspective (the only one that matters to him) the flag is being displayed correctly, with the field on the left. Old Coastie is correct in that the flag is put on the right sleeves of our soldiers in combat zones looking like that, but it's because "the Colors are always advancing." Having the flag displayed the way it normally is (field on the left) looks like the troops are retreating and we can't have that.
Posted by: Steverino | August 11, 2008 at 08:22 PM
No way.
We're the baddest stupid crackers on planet Earth.
I joined up so's I could buy a silver Honda.
Then I was shipped off to Argentina.
Man, I can't tango. Like to, though...

you made my day!
Posted by: wa ching | August 12, 2008 at 03:07 AM
U.S. Flag Code, USC, Ch. 36, Title 10, §175(i):
I didn't believe that the backwards shoulder patches existed but I did find some. Still, I think a reasonable observer would say that waving it from your hands more resembles displaying it in a window or against a wall than on a shoulder patch. I wouldn't be surprised if the reversed shoulder patch flag is probably only to be worn with a regular flag on the other shoulder.
Finally, you can bet if Obama were pictured doing the same thing he would be hit over the head with hit like a sock full of quarters.

Hey blowme ~ (well, that didn't come out sounding quite right, did it?)
"Huh? It's not upside down, so wtf are you talking about? Ever seen the tail of an airliner?
I know you hate the guy, I hate the guy too, but how about sticking to real issues?"
The real issue here is that most likely the hundreds of merkins who made the trip to China for the "games" hold the flag correctly. This MORON has NO CONCEPT of right and wrong, and yet he is the so-called pResident.
We spend huge $$ to elect someone, the least - the very least - we should get is someone who f**king knows which way to hold the flag.
Posted by: leslie | August 12, 2008 at 10:19 AM
I cannot BELIEVE Henry Kissinger is still alive! Well, I knew he was still alive ... but alive enough to travel? I hear there are certain countries he can't go to, or he will be arrested.
That is his wife by him. I am so old, I remember when he married her. (And Henry is at least 40 years older than I am.)
Posted by: Shell | August 12, 2008 at 06:44 PM
This can only mean the American team came in last.
Posted by: JimmyDean'sFuckedUpCousinClyde | August 13, 2008 at 09:23 PM
How many war criminals can you count in that picture. I see two.
Bonus question: How many unindicted co-conspirators can you count in this picture? I see 3, maybe 4.
