Cain Davis, chairman of Citizens for Good Public Policy, said the issue is about regulating a "government gone wild" and ensuring public safety, charging that sexual predators could now simply enter a women's restroom claiming to be a transgender individual.
Project away, little man.

well, as it stands - either gender can enter the opposite restroom, as there are no gate keepers (or keymasters...LOL). And at the local park, the bathrooms are little more than open air potties w/a shower curtain for stall door. Not even a door on either entrance.
And just what do these fundie fanatics expect from a single dad or single mom w/opposite gendered kids...? Go into the parent's gender restroom or the child's? Or just let the kid crap itself and then get busted for child abuse?
Ugh.

For a very short time I had a supervisor who was a woman by surgery. Some of the men knew her before surgery and were pretty hostile. The manager came around to all the women and asked if we had a problem with this supervisor using the women's restroom. Wanting to be a compassionate and enlightened individual I said I didn't care. The men all said he (they never referred to her as a she) was a real jerk. Guess what? As a female she was a real bitch. I guess they don't have an operation fot that. By the way, she had terrible taste in clothes. A leather shirt and heels for work?

"We know that when Republicans go into men's restrooms, bad things can happen," Davis said.

I've been in men's rooms before and frankly, they weren't places I'd want to use for anything. I'm surprised more men don't barge into the ladies room, clean smelling, no piss on the floors, no flinging your junk out in the open.
Also, I'd really prefer that persons concerned about the victimization of women by sexual predators focus more on the real causes of the problem (in order to find a way to end the behavior).
As a woman, I find myself walking on public streets, driving in my car, risking my life in parking garages, public restrooms, parks and even sleeping in my own locked apartment alone at night.
So far I'm safe, but aware of the risks, which persist, thanks of course to the social construct that refuses to release my sex from the status of perpetually potential victim.
