My comment at TPM:
I didn't think Sanford could be bested, but Ensign has come from behind. Banging a staffer (who just happens to be his best friend's wife), then having the parents pay hush money in a structured transaction ... but they wrote only one check. Throw in hookers, another other woman, or a wetsuit, and this just might win GOP scandal of the year.

My mom and dad wouldn't my college tuition. This guy's parents are paying hush money? I'd say I got a raw deal on the parental front.

I'm still laffin' at Coburn's attempt to claim doctor-patient privilege.
YOU'RE AN OB-GYN, COBURN!

Wow. What kind of brass cojones does it take to ask your parents to pay the hush money for you when you're 51 freaking years old? Ensign makes mere sleaze seem a little quaint.

that must have been one hell of a booty call.

YOU'RE AN OB-GYN, COBURN!
And this Ensign business has been going on more than nine months, so it's time to deliver.

When will we ever get true separation of Church and State? Between members of The Family trying to take over government, the evangelicals trying to take over the military so they can stage their coup, the Mormons throwing millions of dollars into ballot proposals, priests refusing communion to politicians, and preachers telling their congregants that they'll go to hell if they don't vote for a particular candidate, they have all long since crossed the line AND NEED TO BE TAXED IN FULL, and treated like any other corporate lobbying group. :grrrrr:

so it's time to deliver.

I love the (failed) attempts to keep those "gifts" under the $12,000 limit. Republicans & math? Not so much, but we knew that.
