We wouldn't want his Cadillac congressional health insurance or his wife's pharmaceutical lobbying efforts to take a hit, now would we?
WASHINGTON -- An independent senator counted on by Democrats in the health care debate showed signs of wavering Sunday when he urged President Barack Obama to postpone many of his initiatives because of the economic downturn.
"I'm afraid we've got to think about putting a lot of that off until the economy's out of recession," said Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman. "There's no reason we have to do it all now, but we do have to get started. And I think the place to start is cost health delivery reform and insurance market reforms."
UPDATE: Of course, Lieberman wouldn't take a stand before checking with his BFF.

Thanks for the gazillionth time, Democratic party, for failing to support your nominee Ned Lamont and instead playing footsie with your good buddy and turncoat Holy Joe. And thanks again Obama for ensuring he faced virtually no consequences for his behavior.
Who could have predicted that letting a WATB narcissist get away with throwing a tantrum, indeed even rewarding him for it, would result in his turning his back on his constituents and party again and again and again? Oh, that's right, all of us predicted it. But we're not fact-checked so what do we know.

Yes, Joe, perhaps we can start with that fabulous idea of your best friend, John McCain. We can give people a tax credit for their insurance up to $5000. Wait a minute...it wasn't even his idea, just some old b.s. the Republicans have been trying to get passed since 1994 instead of a public option. That's fine, if you actually had the $5000 to buy your insurance to begin with, or weren't precluded from getting insurance by some pre-existing condition.
Then we'll just join hands, sing Kumbaya, and pray that the recession ends before too many more are harmed by having no insurance coverage whatsoever.

Sorry, Kathy, but only Socialists sing Kumbaya. And, as we know, Americans hate Socialists. It's in the Constitution.
