Why not the WATER-POWERED calculator from Bits & Pieces? It even has a clock so you'll never miss your 8pm beddie-bye time!

three words: David Sedaris as Santa's helper Christmas elf at Macy's.
OK, that was more than three words.

You know I signed up for that twitter thing, on my computer and then was told to look at my phone. But I don't know, nothing happened.
Then the real world called.
What is that twitter thing anyway?

David Sedaris is one of the funniest guys ever.
His Christmas "family newsletter" from one of his early books, Barrel, something like that, is about a guy's Vietnamese daughter coming to visit, is still with me, and I haven't read it in at least 15 years.

I remember exactly where I was when NPR first played the Santa's Helper story - it had that kind of impact on me.
Sedaris is brilliant. The whole family is freakin' talented.

If Sedaris is not dark enough, Augusten Burroughs has a new, mercifully short, Christmas cheer book out now.

'oh little elf'

I still can't explain why, but the Sedaris bit about explaining to the special needs kids about Santa's "problem," "Santa has a brain tumor... just about the size of... an olive," still sends me into spasms of uncontrollable laughter... and I don't ordinarily think there's anything funny at all about brain tumors....
