He finally gazed upon The Red Crazy and will never be the same again:
Technically, Thursday's GOP-sponsored rally at the Capitol was a "press conference" (a Capitol Police spokeswoman explained that the lawmakers didn't have a permit for a demonstration). The speakers took no questions at this news conference, instead calling, at least a dozen times, for the Pelosi bill's death."Remember some of the other battles: Lexington and Concord, Hamburger Hill, Pork Chop Hill?" said Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa). "We're not going to leave this hill until we kill this bill!"
"Who will kill this bill?" asked Rep. Paul Broun (R-Ga.). "You will!"
"Let's kill this bill," proposed Rep. Jean Schmidt (R-Ohio).
"This bill will be killed," agreed Rep. Bill Cassidy (R-La.).
But Dana wouldn't be fulfilling his contact with the WaPo if he didn't include at least ONE false equivalency:
But, as with a similar rally by Democrats a week before, unpredictable things tend to happen in the wide-open spaces of the Capitol's West Front.
Show me one Democratic rally where people are this dangerously delusional, Dana, you putz.

Dana has Stockholm Syndrome. He's fallen in love with his captors.
That, and he's a dick.

You are half right, res ipsa loquitur. He is a dick. The only entity he is in love with is Dana.

So Republican elected representatives think it's a good thing to call a mob into the halls of Congress and confront elected representatives and influence the way they vote through intimidation.
Oh, not ALL elected representatives, just the elected representatives they disagree with.
How's that work the next time, when maybe YOU'RE the one being intimidated?
Has it ever happened in the history of our country that one group of elected officials has called out a mob against their very own peers?
I can't fucking believe these assholes are risking the integrity of their own institution like this.

"Has it ever happened in the history of our country that one group of elected officials has called out a mob against their very own peers? "
The parallels with the twilight of the Roman Republic before it morphed into the Roman Empire continue unabated.

"I can't fucking believe these assholes are risking the integrity of their own institution like this."
It's known as cutting off your nose despite your face.

In all fairness, the Milbank column as a whole is decidedly critical of Michelle and her ilk. And unquestionably favorable toward government-run health care. I don't know about Milbank's record as a whole, but this particular column seems to me a poor basis for an attack on him.
