This is an official Democratic Party talking point issued today (emphasis mine):
It is mathematically impossible for Democrats to pass legislation on our own. Senate Republicans to come to the table with ideas for improving our nation and not obstructionist tactics.
Seriously. 60 is apparently the new 51.

Then, amend the filibuster rules and get back to work legislating.
If you can't/won't do your JOB, quit and let someone else do it. The Senate is not an old farts club. It is part of government. A government that can not govern out of paralysis is as doomed as the deer in the headlights.

This is exactly the situation the Dem Party bigwigs want. This is what they have worked to achieve.
The status quo is just fine by them. They're raking it in. They have a swell revolving door between the government and makework lobbying jobs so that once they're elected to national office, they never have to worry again.
They're not letting mere voters upset their sweet deal.
We now have 2 wings of the same party, the Fascist wing and the Ineffectual wing.
Choose your poison.

Well, they must be reading the Village Voice and believing their headline, to wit: "Scott Brown Wins Mass. Race, Giving GOP 41-59 Majority in the Senate"
How stooopid are they?? That stooopid, I guess. Idiots.

The Pacific Ocean
This thing is gigantic and powerful. I grew up right next door to it.
It's a bad mamma jamma when it wants to be, and I've seen it as calm as a lake in the park. Seriously.
