I really wonder what it is the Japanese DO to their cats to make them so placid. There's no way my brood of crazies would tolerate being plunked down together in a basket, despite being brothers. And mayhem and mass blood letting would begin at the suggestion that they wear a hat! It clearly is a cultural phenomenon worthy of study.
