News you can use all day
(Petunia and Pals) The Couch is completely stunned that Fox News was not invited to the White House for a briefing.
- Tax Cuts - Hey guys, remember that time when former Senator, Xristian Xrazie scold, and math-challenged anger goblin, current Kansas Governor Sam Brownback (R - Jeebusland) drastically cut taxes claiming that then revenue will stream into his state's sunflower? Me Nether!, but anyway, he's now asking for his state's legislature to do something about paying for them and raising revenue because they are about to go insolvent. “What I am not going to do — and what I won’t sign — is putting taxes back on small businesses and raising the income tax rate back up,” Brownback said. “Certainty is a key issue on tax policy.” (Kansas City Star)
- You're Fired! - Gelatinous mass Roger Ailes has suspended from appearing on the Faux Noise Network anyone related to the 2012 Goat Rodeo election-night fiasco (which should be the entire network), but especially that toe-sucking fiend Dick Morris and Chimpy's so-called brain Turdblossom. Allegedly, if any producer want to put either of these pontificating poltroons on his network, they have to seek Ailes permission first. (NYMag)
- What Cliff? - Hey guys, you know how Republicans are always screaming that we don't have "a revenue problem, we have a spending problem," and they've log-jammed all legislation to fund any department unless they get a budget cut? Me Too!, but anyway, the Senate passed the Pentagon Budget Request of $631 Billion by 98 - 0. (Raw Story)
- Sure Thing - Maybe crooked--but definitely under federal investigation--casino billionaire and sugar daddy to Wingnuttia Sheldon Adelson (handsome as he is ethical), who allegedly spent upwards of $150 million to buy the 2012 Goat Rodeo says he will try again: "I'll spend that much and more," Adelson told the Wall Street Journal. "Let's cut any ambiguity." (TPM)

Damn liberal media! Denying Republicans their freedom of speech!
Oh, wait...

Dear god, Tengrain, please stop with the "Hey guys, remember that time when ... me neither." It ceased being cute after the 3rd time you used it. I genuinely like the news nuggets you dig up, but wrapping every freaking post inside a "Hey guys" "me neither" is just tedious. So much so that I usually skip posts containing it.
You dig up plenty of stuff thats interesting in its own right, so there's no need to keep beating us over the head with this formulaic crutch.

KT -
The problem is many-folded and it happens often enough that someone say, "who's X and why do I care?" If you look at earlier news briefs (even from this week), you'll find someone asking it, and The Renegades are amongst the best and the brightest, the absolute 1% of snarkers.
In my mind, when I write it, I hear Gilbert Gottfried's voice, so at least you don't have to suffer through that... until now.
Rgds,
Tengrain
PS - Point taken. I'll see if I can find another way to explain it without it being too professorial.

I, too, find the me neither construct tiresome. May I suggest a "Winston Smith remembers when..." might be better?
