A Texas GOP congressman who has floated the possibility of impeaching President Barack Obama announced Monday that controversial rocker Ted Nugent would be his guest at Tuesday's State of the Union address.
Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas), who claimed earlier this year that he'd be willing to file articles of impeachment over Obama's gun control push, addressed the development in a statement, stressing that Nugent would be available for media interviews after Obama's speech.
"I am excited to have a patriot like Ted Nugent joining me in the House Chamber to hear from President Obama," the congressman said. "After the address I'm sure Ted will have plenty to say."
Does drooling and frothing at the mouth count as "plenty to say"? Perhaps, like that other paragon of SOTU etiquette, South Carolina Rep. Joe "You Lie!" Wilson, Nugent will feel the need to scream "ZE WANGO ZE TANGO!" or something else incredibly inappropriate.
Didn't the Nuge once say that he'd be dead or in prison if Obama were reelected? We should be so fortunate.

Given Nugent's threats against both Obama and Michelle, his notoriety for packing a gun wherever he goes and his repeated statement indicating he's more than willing to pull the trigger, I'd think the secret service should consider his presence in the same state with the President, let alone the same room, as an unacceptable security risk.

This is governance by vaudeville slapstick. Stockman thinks Nugent is the pig bladder he's going to use to whack Obama on the head.
