News you can use all day
(Petunia and Pals) ¡Geraldo! is very proud of Sen. Aqua Buddha, compares him to Jimmy Stewart and notes that he got 50,000 new followers on the Twatter machine.
- Religious Freedumb - Xristian Xrazies are forever yammering on about how The Kenyan is destroying their ability to love Christ by hating everyone else. A new survey shows that Catholics are more in favor of Marriage Equality than the population at large. Suck on THAT, fetus-fondling god-botherers. (Raw Story)
- DOMA Do-over - The best Republican President ever, Bill Clinton who signed DOMA into law says he now realizes the law discriminates against gays. He says he signed the law in 1996 to avoid legislation that would have been even worse for gays. (WaPo)
- No D'uh - States with stronger gun control laws have the fewest gun deaths, according to a new study from Boston Children’s Hospital. Correlation is not causation, the authors are quick to say, so don't shoot them! (Think Progress)

I'm so sick of the pundits talking about how Rand Paul is so "fascinating", so "astute", so "right" (well, right wing, IMHO), coming not only from conservative-minded ones, but from people who should know better. Go ahead, talk up this "potential candidate for 2016" and wait to see him eviscerated by people who really know what he's about.
Like Matt Taibbi, who wrote this in 2010: http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/matt-taibbi-on-the-tea-party-20100928
Rand Paul is just another rightwing opportunist, and I can't believe the allegedly "smart people" who are buying into his BS.

Aqua Buddha bears a lot more resemblance to Lonesome Rhodes than to Jefferson Smith.
If Paul runs in 2016, he'll inherit his father's support group and very little else.
As for Clinton's mea culpa on DOMA, perhaps he didn't notice that the Repugs didn't have the votes to override a veto, on either DOMA or that legislation that would've been worse, provided he'd ridden herd on the Dems. Funny how there's always a million excuses available for doing the wrong thing, and yet, no excuses are necessary for doing the right thing.
