News you can use all day
(Petunia and Pals) Short-fingered vulgarian Donald Trump dismisses global climate change by referencing magazine covers of the 1920s. Oh, he also wants to execute Edward Snowden.
- The Right to Life Ends at Birth - Despite the successful People's Filibuster last Thursday, the Texas Legislature passed SB 5, which puts severe restrictions on access to abortion (for one thing, it leaves only 5 clinics open in the entire state). (Think Progress)
- Armed Fetuses - One of the fetus-fondling Wingnuttian yahoos in the Texas Legislature sent the threatening sounding tweet that he was glad to be packing heat while the debate was raging:
Some days u r extra thankful we still have the right 2 protect ourselves & the 2nd amendment-Today is 1 of those days #txlege— Jonathan Stickland (@RepStickland) June 23, 2013
...only to later clarify that he meant that it was a shame that fetuses are unarmed. (Raw Story)
- Zombie-eyed Granny Starving Today - When last we saw Paul Ryan (the first-place finisher for the role of second banana to last-place finisher of would-be Preznint Stench), he was voting against the Farm Bill because it didn't have enough cuts to Food Stamps to help feed the poor. Which is of course why today he declares that he is focusing on the issue of poverty:
I'm focused on poverty these days, this is why I'm focused on -- we've got the 50th anniversary of the war on poverty coming up next year. We don't have much to show for it."
